In the past, I relied on the motion photo to account for last moment movements of fish that would result in blurry pictures. The motion photo allowed me to go back and screenshot for a better picture.

I love motion photo and was sold on it a long time ago on another platform, which had it well before even iPhones. (Best not discuss which platform that was 🤣) Anyway I hate how neglected it is on S20/ One UI 2.0. Tapping a view motion photo button to get bounced out of to a video player/editor flow, is clunky.

There is no magic button for Google Photos to do this, and because each Live, Motion, Active photo is proprietary to each manufacturer it is difficult to help. I can share that with my Moto, if I edit an Active photo I am warned that Editing turns off motion. and changes will be saved as a still photo.
