So, does the camera add 10 pounds? Yes it easily can but with a little know how. You can get amazing accurate portraits. Now it’s just the wrinkles, tired eyes, blemishes and everything else to worry about. Thank goodness for Photoshop!!!!

One shooting from the level of your navel and with the camera angled up at your face. Then take another holding the camera over your head and angled down toward your face.

Seriously, a camera doesn’t add 10 pounds; done correctly, it just shows you how you actually look. It’s your self-image that isn’t in line with reality, so you think it’s the camera’s fault.

It’s a common saying that “the camera adds 10 pounds” (or 5, depending on how much you want to tell yourself). I’m sure most of us at some point have had a friend or family member look at a photo of themselves and say “OMG, I look huge!” when the truth is they don’t.
